I’m Sailing Away…….

There was lots of excitement today on the beach in front of Son of Africa.  Not far down the beach from our home is a small African fishing Village where there are often many fishing boats anchored just off shore.  Usually they are peacefully bobbing in the gentle waves, allowing for some amazing photo opportunities.

Today the waves and winds managed to break away one of the fishing boats and send it crashing into shore just below our home.  It caused quite a commotion and brought many of the locals from the village to help with the recovery.

These are a few pictures taken from the cliffs above.  Luckily they were able to get it flipped over and back out to sea to be anchored again.  It’s so amazing to see the many people that come to help in situations like these.  I counted 138 in the last picture.  How many did you count?  Takes a village to rescue a boat!  Reminds me of a little story of getting stuck out in the sand dunes in the desert……but that’s for another day. 🙂  Have a great week!
